Empowering Fisherfolk, Securing a Sustainable Future
Imagine a thriving fishing community where families prosper, empowered by knowledge, skills, and resilient practices. This is the vision behind PANGISDA-Bataan's impactful initiative, "Generating a More Sustainable Source of Livelihood."
01
More Than Just Catching Fish:
Building on Tradition: They go beyond simply providing resources; they enhance existing fishing practices, ensuring long-term viability and ecological balance.
Empowering the Vulnerable: The most economically challenged fisherfolk in Capunitan and Lamao receive crucial support – motorized boats, nets, and farming tools – to secure their families' well-being.
Unleashing Potential: Leadership and skills training empowers fisherfolk organizations, equipping them to navigate challenges and advocate for their rights.
02
Ripples of Impact:
Fairer Market Prices: The project strengthens bargaining power, ensuring fair compensation for the community's hard work.
Women Empowered: Active female participation drives economic progress and fosters gender equality.
Beyond Fishing: New skills in food preservation and sustainable farming diversify livelihoods and create additional income streams.
Environmental Stewardship: By promoting ecological awareness and responsible practices, the project safeguards the future of their livelihood and the health of their environment.
Resilient Community: Less reliance on aid translates to a stronger community, better equipped to face challenges and emergencies.
