In General Discussion
In January 2015, Yamaha announced that its pedal NMAX125 will be launched in Indonesia and in Japan in March 2016. The NMAX125 is a member of the "MAX series" and is powered by Yamaha's "BLUE CORE" small engine, which better reflects the high level of driving pleasure, fuel efficiency, and environmental performance.
2016 NMAX125 high-efficiency combustion, high cooling performance, and the thorough pursuit of loss reduction, these three points are the development concept of the Yamaha "BLUE CORE" engine. It is reported that in 2014 Yamaha in Vietnam market launched of the scooter "Nozza Grande" equipped with the "BLUE CORE" engine, compared with the same class in 2008, fuel efficiency increased by 50%. The main features of the NMAX 125 are also the "BLUE CORE" engine, which features a VVA (variable valve) mechanism with excellent heat dissipation and space efficiency, and an offset cylinder to reduce horsepower loss. The body is surrounded by a newly designed frame with excellent torsional rigidity. The engine suspension also features a linkage engine mount system for a direct feeling of rider operation and low vibration. Front and rear disc brakes and ABS are standard, headlights, parking lights, and taillights are LED, and the instrumentation features an LCD multi-function display.
In addition to updating the color scheme in August 2017, the emissions system was made compliant with Japanese regulations. With the introduction of the NMAX 155 in April 2017, the number "125" representing displacement was dropped and the name was changed to "NMAX ABS". The color scheme was updated in February 2018 and June 2019, and in June 2021 the NMAX was equipped with a dedicated app for smartphone cooperation (the first for a Yamaha Japanese model), a long-term traction control system, silent start, an intelligent electric generator system, and an idle stop system for the first time as a Yamaha moped model.
The new NMAX is also updated with three color schemes: "matte dark green," "white" and "matte dark gray. "Matte dark green" is similar to the MAX series "TMAX560", the combination of dark tones, dark green-gray and gold wheels exudes an elegant temperament. "White" is a sporty color that combines bright white and black wheels. "Matte Dark Gray" follows the popular color of the 2021 model by changing the color of the armrest bar to matte black, showing a refined texture with dark tones and low contrast.
The Yamaha NMAX 2023 ABS White NMAX ABS inherits the DNA of the "MAX series", combining the unique innovative style and sporty performance in a compact body with the assistance of various intelligent technology systems, allowing more motorcyclists to enjoy the fun of riding and the thrill of control during their commute.
